State FFA Press Corps 2015

On Wednesday March 25th, the first day of the 2014 - 2015 Montana FFA State Convention, the FFA Press Corps held their first meeting and assigned all of it’s members to articles that they were to cover throughout the convention. The Press Corps is an activity that allows FFA members to experience the journalistic side of FFA by interviewing members, advisors, or supervisors about FFA and the State Convention, and of course writing articles for the Legend.

Caitlyn Corso and Holly Emter applied to be part of the Press Corps and were given the opportunity to take part in an FFA Newsletter that covered the happenings of State Convention. The Press Corps was run by the Electric City FFA advisor, and members from many different chapters participated in this wonderful opportunity. Holly wrote an article about her sister, Madelyn Emter, and an article about the talent competition. Caitlyn wrote an article about the Big Timber FFA vice president, Tucker Stenberg, and an article about Farm Business Management. All of these articles were published in the newsletter along with many others.

With the Press Corps members were able to learn more about interesting members, improve their journalistic writing abilities, and experience more about what FFA has to offer. Hopefully next year the same opportunity will be given and other members will be able to test out their journalistic ability.
