Top 5 Reasons I Can’t Wait To Graduate

Article By: Jade Fredricks

There have been so many times I have sat in bed and thought about what I was going to do with my life after I graduate high school. Sometimes I think I still don’t know what I am going to do, but one thing is for sure… I will graduate and I will be happy to move on from high school.

So here are the top 5 reasons I am itching to be rid of high school:

  1. A Change of Scene: The one thing that I want most of all is to go out and explore the world, to be able to see more than just the small town of Big Timber. Don’t get me wrong, I love Big Timber, but sometimes driving the same streets and seeing the same people gets too monotonous.
  2. Having My Own Space: I love my family and I love my friends, but every now and then I like being able to have my own space and time to think. Graduation and college is definitely going to give me that freedom and I will cherish every minute of it.
  3. Push My Limits: I don’t necessarily mean seeing how much trouble I can get in before I end up in jail, but more along the lines of what I can do and who I can become. High school limits you in that aspect and I want to push myself above and beyond high school.
  4. Expand My Groups: #1 reason I hated high school was that you only had so many options as to who you became friends with. If you've gone to high school then you know the feeling and you know that high school is one big drama pit. I just need to escape before I get completely drowned in it.
  5. Become Who I Really Want To Be: Sure high school taught us some math and English, but did it teach us about ourselves and allow us to be who we truly are? In my opinion, no and that’s just because when you are being judged every step of the way throughout high school it is hard to see who you really are and who you really want to become.
